About This Tz safaris

Landscape: Vast red-earth landscapes, rugged inselbergs and river valleys. A mixture of miombo woodlands, baobab studded plains and winding dry-season river channels that offer stark, dramatic scenery.
Animals: Exceptional large-carnivore populations (big lion prides, leopard and wild dog), large elephant numbers and uncommon species such as greater kudu and sable. Wild dog sightings are more common here than in many parks. Birdlife includes Miombo specialists and raptors.
History / notes: Ruaha has become better known to international safarists in recent decades but remains remote and lightly visited, which helps preserve its wild character. The park is central to long-term conservation of wide-ranging species like wild dogs.
